Choose a photographer who gets you

Choosing a photographer can be one of the most important decisions you make when planning your wedding. Not only does it determine who will take your portraits and what style they’ll use, but it also affects how much time you have to spend on other aspects of your big day.

Any professional photographer should know enough about photography so that he or she can translate your vision into an image that reflects both yours and theirs perfectly!

Be clear about your expectations and preferences.

When hiring a photographer, it’s important to communicate your expectations and preferences early on in the process. If you have an idea of what kind of photographs you want, this will help when it comes time to plan for the day. For example: if your preference is for more candid shots at key locations or moments throughout the day, then be sure that this is reflected in how much time is allotted at each location during the wedding day. The same goes for wedding styles - make sure you check out galleries and social media so you can get an idea of the style of photography that your photographer is known for.

Don't forget the details.

Wedding photography is a great opportunity to capture some of those details that will be irreplaceable in years to come. Some of these include:

  • The wedding cake and its decorations
  • Flowers, bouquets and boutonnieres
  • Wedding favors (including chocolate bars)
  • Wedding Venue Details

Make a list of must-have photos for you and your groom to give to the photographer before the big day arrives.

It's important to make a list of must-have photos. Make sure that you give the list to your photographer in advance, so they can get started on it and have time to finish before the big day arrives. If possible, give them an extra copy of this list. This is especially important if there are any last minute changes or additions that need to be made before your wedding day begins.

HOW DO WE BOOK/RESERVE YOU FOR OUR WEDDING?

Simple, just drop me a email, text or call, we can discuss and see if your date is available - From there we can sort the finer details of your day - I'm more than happy to jump on a Zoom Call and have a chat.

HOW MANY HOURS DO YOU STAY FOR?

Typically speaking anywhere from 8-10 hours is plenty of time to capture a whole days worth of memories, that said, I like to stay until the job is done - If you book me for a full days coverage, I'll be there when the make up goes on until its ready to come off! - If you decide you just want a half day of coverage or anything in between then that's no problem also.

WHY DO WE NEED A WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER?

With Technology making things much more convenient and basically everyone having a Smartphone these days - photography is available to almost everyone. I don't doubt that 'Uncle Frank' can take nice photos, but there is no substitute for having a dedicated professional there on the day. - Your guests are there to enjoy themselves and have fun, Having a professional photographer at your wedding should put you at ease by knowing that your memories will be captured in the best possible light.

WHAT EQUIPMENT DO YOU HAVE/USE

Having the correct gear is vital for any job - (Fail to prepare, prepare to fail) Luckily modern cameras are very reliable - that said - Things can go wrong albeit very Rarely - that is why I have back ups of everything I use - Back up cameras, lenses, Memory cards, Lights, even a second outfit! - I use Nikon cameras personally as I love the look and feel of the images created - Each delivered image is then edited using the latest software with my own editing style applied.
